More excitement, more things


After getting a basic, scorable game up and running, I wanted to focus on filling out some details a little.

  • There's a fishing pole, and the fish target is now where the lure would be,  as opposed to directly under the boat
  • Boss fish are more exciting (surprising?) to catch. Still looking to filling out fish with sprites rather than blocks
  • The boat has a separate collision map for each direction, giving a better feeling experience.
  • The map is now separated into a collision map, and a decorations layer. This means you can float over certain riffraff and drive behind trees (okay, it's actually in _front_ of at this moment heh)
  • The map decorations are filled out. Though, you can't see most of the detail at this resolution from the boat ; ;


Things I'd still like to implement before the jam is over:

  • Fish pics
  • I'm considering playing with the catch timing, rather than being an auto-vacuum, requiring to stay put momentarily. It would help sync up the animations, and prevent vacuum-trolling, but honestly, I kind of like the faster-paced fish vacuum.
  • Separate screen for bosses
  • The next boss type for when "that number" gets high enough
  • Title Screen?
